So, in the actual Medieval Period, the only Universities in what we would think of as England (or indeed, Great Britain/the United Kingdon) were Oxford and Cambridge. The Universities of Edinburgh and St. Andrews, as well as University College Dublin weren't established until the 1400s, 1500s, or later. But in game, there is clearly a University in York, which has been discussed many times and sessions have been held there.

Some questions about this:

1) Is the University at York a Studium Generale?
2) Is it taking the place of a different historical Studium Generale?
3) Are there any other Universities in the realm controlled by our Prince, or is the university at York the only one?

Originally it was Megan's intention to either have her Court in the University at Scarborough, or to create one if there was none.

The latter ended up being the case, so as far as I was told, it's a created University.

So when was it constructed, relative to the other major British universities?

If I recall correctly it was constructed out of an older building and was just recently converted into a university. It's not super popular or well known to anyone outside of the domain only because it does not have fame in and of itself. However the older it gets the more fame it will gain, as well as the more attention it will get from non-kindred
