Building Keeps
Ok ST's heres one for you say if a player wanted to have a keep built on his/her land what Influences/ backgounds are we looking at ?

Resources... That would pretty much do it by itself. Of course, having the haven background applied to your keep would make it better, and possibly the domain background as well.
Look at the backgrounds section listed in the character creation board.

Grrr, I wrote a long nice reply and it disappeared. In short:
Looking at repair costs and such from historical documents, they cost anywhere from 10,000 to 100,000 or more for truly massive fortifications. This is multiple years of resources 5.
You also likely need permissions from the mortal king to build one, and may seek to bring in labor, materials, and experts to help build it. Influences and other backgrounds can help ease this.

Also, consider that many locations in this area that could support a keep and are good tactical choices for a keep, already have one there. Local lords have no doubt built up fortifications. Getting a keep is probably easier if you supplant a lord who already has one, or make one into your retainer, etc.
