From Cologne, with Love

“Your Grace a missive from the Prince of Cologne. Shall I read it to you here, or….?”

Amaesia looks up, closing the book she had been reading. She stands, and gestures for the messenger to follow her. "In private, at least until I know the contents of the missive."

[NarrLiam]

"Yes, Your Grace."

The servant follows Amaesia.

::A few minutes later they return, and at the permission of the Prince the messenger reads the following scroll.::

His Grace, Heinrich Von Gottschalk of the Domain of Cologne wishes to extend his warmest of affections, and requests that his servant, Ichorst, be granted Hospitality in your Domain. His Eminence has heard of the change in leadership, and wishes to continue to build the good will between Scarborough and Cologne. His servant will arrive within three nights from the reception of this letter, allowing for a response that will avoid any unnecessary unpleasantness, whatever the answer. His Grace very much hopes Ichorst will be well received, and encloses with this message a chest of rare inks and parchments.

::The servant then steps back and to the side and awaits instructions.::

Amaesia follows the servant out, then waits for him to speak. After he is done, she nods. "Ichorst has my hospitality." She turns to the servant. "May I inquire as to what your orders are, once your message has been delivered?"

Baroness, if I may, how would you like to handle the hosting arrangements for our guest? Will you put them up in York, or would you prefer a locale to be established for the purpose of hosting emissaries?

Alternately, we can simply allow our guess to reside with their clanmates, though not all clans have adequate representation at the nonce.

[NarrLiam]

::The servant waits for all his betters to finish conversing before speaking.::

[Etheldred]

I will host Ichorst in York for the time being, unless he prefers to stay with his clan. That said, a place to host emissaries is an excellent idea. I will entertain suggestions as to a locale at our next court.

[NarrLiam]

Thank you m'lady. My orders are now to relay your message to Ichorst, and return post haste.
